Peltier is horribly inefficient, and doesn\'t come remotely close the efficiency and performance of vapor-compression systems. If you use renewable to power a vapor-compression systems you would use probably less than 10% the electrical energy required for Peltier for the same refrigeration capacity- just doing a quick winging on the numbers. So unless you have a requirement for miniaturization and very lightweight equipment and don\'t require much refrigeration, Peltier is out of the question.

Learn some basic physics. The freezer is subjected to a much larger temp differential than the fresh food compartment- roughly 70o versus 33o, so the heat loss will be twice that of the fresh food.
